Sixteen San Francisco-based artists of the Paris - San Francisco Artist Exchange are pleased to welcome visual artists from Paris, France for a joint exhibition this October, to coincide with San Francisco’s “Open Studios” event.

The Paris - San Francisco Artist Exchange began in October 2005 when nearly 30 American artists from San Francisco and Chicago participated in Paris Open Studios. As part of a series of international cultural exchanges coordinated by the Paris-based arts association “Le Génie de la Bastille,” the French and American artists exhibited work together in locations throughout the Bastille neighborhood in Paris. The American artists received a warm welcome from their Parisian hosts, city officials, and hundreds of exhibition guests.

This year, the San Francisco artists are pleased to reciprocate by hosting sixteen Parisian artists and including them in the annual San Francisco Open Studios. The French artists and their San Francisco hosts will participate in a joint exhibition at the Cachi Art Studio during the Mission District Open Studios weekend. The opening reception and weekend exhibition celebrate a bond of creativity and artistic freedom that connects artists and art lovers, regardless of their cultural background or homeland. The following San Francisco and French artists are taking part in the Paris - San Francisco Artist Exchange in October 2006:
